Michael Gaultois@Cambridge

Marie Skłodowska-Curie International Fellow

I joined the Grey group at the University of Cambridge in May 2015, and am working hard to develop new ceramic materials to reduce the environmental impact of coal-fired power generation. Approximately 40 percent of the world's power comes from coal, making this an issue of great relevance to society and the scientific community.

Who am I?

A big fan of fountain pens, smoked gouda, M.C. Escher, and high fives, Michael Gaultois holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry and his research focus is on the preparation and structural characterization of functional inorganic materials – particularly those with structural disorder. Proper characterization is critical to understanding the behaviour of materials, and is crucial to guiding the rational design of materials and optimization of desired properties.
